Resident and Fellow Section

Welcome to the New York State Radiological Society Resident and Fellow Section!

The New York State Radiological Society (NYSRS) sponsors and supports a Resident and Fellow Section (RFS) comprised of residents and fellows in radiology training programs throughout New York State. The RFS is run by elected officers and focuses on issues important to residents and fellows during their training in diagnostic and interventional radiology.

The RFS works closely with the many leaders in radiology and business throughout the state and nationally, via the American College of Radiology.  Whether it affects your education, work environment or future as practicing physicians, the NYSRS-RFS ensures your voice will be heard by the institutions, regulators and elected officials who impact our careers.

It is free to join and easy to become involved! Please email one of the officers listed below if you are interested in becoming involved. Also, follow our Twitter page linked on the right!

ACR Meeting in Washington, D.C.

NYSRS RFS members attend the annual ACR meeting in Washington DC. At the ACR meeting, there is educational programming dedicated to members-in-training, and RFS members may participate in Capitol Hill Day, learning to advocate for patient access to high-quality radiological care.

ACR Radiology Leadership Institute (RLI) Scholarships

The NYS Radiological Society Foundation supports selected RFS members to attend RLI events, such as the RLI Annual Summit and the RLI 12-week course: Maximize Your Impact and Influence. Trainees have the opportunity to network with and learn from future and current leaders from across the country and develop skills needed to run a radiology practice.

RFS members are invited to participate in our free yearly career advice workshop, where an expert panel answers trainees’ questions on the hiring process and how to build a rewarding career.

Collaborative events with the Young Professional Section (YPS)

The NYSRS RFS collaborates with other NYSRS sections to create programming of mutual interest, such as the RFS/YPS Career Fundamentals Series, in which RFS and YPS members are invited to presentations on transitioning from training to practice, career advancement, work-life balance, and other topics.

Annual Social and Networking Events

Residents and fellows enjoy free yearly social events sponsored by the NYSRS RFS, where they socialize and network with prominent radiology leaders in NY State.
