Dr. Kagetsu, MD, FACR, FASR is a neuroradiologist at Mount Sinai. He’s been in NYC since 1988, when he started residency, and has been an ACR /NYSRS member since 1992.
1. Why you decided to go into radiology
I liked the problem solving part of radiology. I had done neuro IR for many years. I had the good fortune to work with Alex Berenstein and was part of his team.
2. Favorite moment/experience as part of the NYSRS
One of the highlights of NYSRS is working with Judy Yee as founding co-chair of the DEI committee. They also advised me on my journey to getting elected to the ACR CSC.
3. Advice for medical students interested in radiology
For those considering radiology, join ACR (the MSS has a lot of resources). Don’t forget to shadow a resident on call!
4. Fun fact about you!
I used to deliver the morning paper “The Buffalo Courier Express”. My dad wanted me to follow in his footsteps and become a chemical engineer. I rebeled and went to medical school!
