NYSRS Foundation

Dear Member of the NYS Radiological Society,

I am writing on behalf of The New York State Radiological Society Foundation. Our mission is to develop future Radiology leaders for the benefit of our Society, our profession, and most importantly our patients. The Foundation supports training in advocacy, quality and patient safety, health policy, and clinical practice.

Since the Foundation’s inception three years ago, we have sent thirty-seven (37) Residents and Fellows to the Radiology Leadership Institute Summit, provided support for seven (7) residents to attend the Radiology Leadership Institute’s Kickstart Your Career program, and funded one mid-career physician to attend the Radiology Leadership Institute’s Build Your Executive Skill Set. We have supported innovative activities including the first New York State Radiological Society Hack-a-thon. The Foundation has also provided supported for networking events for our residents and fellows.

The Foundation continues to provide financial assistance to future radiology leaders, but we also want to honor members and colleagues who have previously advanced our specialty, paving the way for future generations. We are grateful for their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment to excellence. This year the Society is awarding its Gold Medal Achievement Award to Dr. Philip Alderson, former Chair of Radiology at Columbia/New York Presbyterian Hospital and Past President of the NYSRS; Dr. Mitchell Goldman, Past President of the NYSRS, and Past Department Chair of Radiology at North Shore Hospital- LIJ; Dr. Roger Hyman, Past President of the NYSRS and former Chair of Radiology at North Shore-LIJ; and Philip Pinsky, Esq. Counsel to the NYSRS for 28 years.

We also want to highlight the achievements of our 17 new ACR Fellows, who will be inducted at this year’s upcoming national American College of Radiology meeting in Washington DC.
